Agency for the Protection of Programs (APP) is the European association of authors and information technology professionals which, for more than ten years, has had proven success in protecting software and in leading the way to the future management of rights in information technology. It has more than 8000 members.

The APP has filed more than 1000 pleadings of statements in connection with legal proceedings for the seizure of counterfeit software in European countries which lack a procedure for the deposit and identification of copies of source code.

The APP is a founding member of the INTERDEPOSIT Network and is undertaking the task of establishing an international identification system IDDN.
